Q. How does OasysDSL compare with dial-up network connectivity services such as ISDN and analog services?
A. Unlike ISDN and other dial-up services, OasysDSL is a dedicated network connection that is "Always On" - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means you don't have to dial in every time you want to check your e-mail or surf the Web. The service's 24x7 design and ability to provide connectivity for a single PC or entire LAN makes it ideal for small to medium-sized businesses, as well as for power Internet users. It is also an affordable way to host your own Web or e-mail server.

Q. Do I have to pay a lot for this "Always On" service?
A. If you can afford an ISDN line, you can afford Oasys's DSL service. OasysDSL is priced at a flat rate, so you don't have to worry about per-minute or hourly charges. Monthly costs are a fraction of what you would pay for a 24x7 T-1 line, literally a quarter of the cost. Even for the typical ISDN user who is online as little as two to three hours a day, OasysDSL will save you money while providing a faster, more reliable connection that's available any time.

Q. Is OasysDSL secure?
A. Unlike it is for cable modems, customer traffic is kept separate and isolated to the telephone company's Central Office (CO) connection point. So, traffic from one user's OasysDSL connection is never visible on another customer's OasysDSL network.

Q. Will OasysDSL work with my existing network?
A. The DSL modem included with the service has a standard 10BaseT Ethernet interface, allowing easy connection to your network router, hub or directly to an individual PC outfitted with a Network Interface Card (NIC).

Q. I've heard that there are different types or "flavors" of DSL, and that they run at different speeds. How can I avoid locking myself into the wrong choice?
A. Our technicians are experts in all the flavors of DSL and can advise you on which one best suits your needs. In addition, the supporting DSL hardware and software is highly scalable and provides a seamless upgrade path as your network demands grow, scaling from speeds of 144Kbps all the way up to 1.5Mbps or even faster. So, even as new options such as ultra-fast HDSL become available in the future, much of your investment will remain protected.

Q. Is DSL a new technology?
A. Not at all. Telecommunications companies have used DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line, technology since the early 1990's for T-1 voice and data circuits. This technology is now available to you from Oasys for cost-effective Internet and Intranet access. Best of all, OasysDSL works over regular telephone lines to bring full-time, high-speed network connections directly to your business or home.

Q. How long will it take to implement the service?
A. You can be up and running with OasysDSL comparatively quickly. Under normal circumstances, you will have access to the service within 30 days of signing up, and with some Local Exchange Carriers (LECs), we can get you connected even faster. This compares with lead times of six to eight weeks or longer with most T-1 services. (Note: there are circumstances in which extra work on the phone lines may be required to get your connection operational. This can increase installation time.)

Q. So, how much does OasysDSL cost?
A. OasysDSL service starts at $69/month for speeds comparable to ISDN, and ranges up to $499/month for a high-speed, continuous connection at T-1 speeds. That's one monthly flat rate, on a single bill from Oasys.

Q. Is OasysDSL available in my area?
A. Because DSL network connections are relatively new, not all telephone company COs are set up to support the service.
